Marcel Braun is one of the pioneers of the borosilicate art movement. He began his career in the Northwest making functional smoking apparatuses. Never satisfied with the status quo, Marcel contentiously seeking out and developing new techniques to enhance is art. Unsatisfied with the tools available to him, Marcel designed what has now become the standard annealing kiln used in the industry. He also was one of the first to innovate the use of a crucible kiln with Borosilicate Glass.
His current passion is a movement he started called Project 33 (as in projecting). The purpose of the movement is to support and challenge artists. You can find out more by watching the trailer for his new film Project 33 – An Alternative is Possible.
