Differentiations and Accommodations

Differentiation

Struggling Learners

Accommodation

Students will move at their own path and pace while teachers can intervene and support as needed.

Learning Objectives: Knowledge

Advanced surface design techniques and application towards project work

Learning Objectives: Skills

Students will: -Review slab rolling process -Learn new skills for applying specific techniques to the surface of advanced ceramic projects (underglaze transfers, mishima, wax resist etching, texture transfer, slip trailing, and sgraffito).

Learning Objectives: Attitudes/Values

Exploration, experimentation, application techniques, taking risks

Formative Assessment

Video share, Note taking during teacher demos

Summative Assessment

Students submit six completed surface design slides that have been bisque fired.

Lesson Activities

Video Share

Explore the resources on YouTube and other online resources to find tutorials that explore advanced ceramic texture and designs.Share your video to class youtube playlist

Clay slab tiles

Watch the teacher demos and take notes as needed. Use your tiles and rotate to the station of your choice to play and explore with the techniques. Take photos of each tile during and after bisque firing: add photos and notes to slides
