Type S Thermocouple Upgrade Installation
A type S Thermocouple is a very fragile, very expensive thermocouple, that does not degrade when exposed to high temperatures. It is used primarily in conditions when the kiln chamber is exposed to temperatures over Cone 6 with long holds. If a type S thermocouple is installed incorrectly it can cause an extreme over-fire which can permanently damage the kiln.
